Student progression

Move the whole class. Decide for each student.

Promote, repeat, graduate or record a leaver, all in one run at the end of the year. Every outcome is chosen by your staff.

A fictional class: everyone set to promote, then one student repeats and one is recorded as having left.

Where each class goes

The next class is already suggested.

Destinations come from the order of your classes, stream by stream.

  • Science to Science, Arts to Arts. A whole-class run fills in a destination for each section. Change one stream without abandoning the run.

  • No surprises in the new class. If students are already enrolled in the destination, the count is shown before you promote.

  • Only years that can receive students. The new session must start after the current one and must not be locked or finished. Other years are not offered.

Destinations follow the class order, stream by stream. Here one stream is redirected by hand, and only the next open year can receive students. An example school.

One outcome per student

Promote, repeat, graduate or left.

Each student gets the outcome that fits them.

  • Four clear choices. Promote into the new class, repeat the same class in the new session, graduate into the alumni list, or record that a student has left.

  • Set many at once. Apply one outcome to the students you have selected. The button says how many it will change.

  • Searching never drops anyone. Search the class to find a student. Students selected before the search are still included.

Each outcome says what it does. A search narrows the list without changing who is selected. Fictional students.

Fees across the year

Balances move with the student.

What a family owes is not left behind in last year’s class.

  • Carried forward. Outstanding fees follow promoted and repeating students into the new session.

  • No graduating with fees owed. Final-year students who still owe are listed separately. Clear the balance, or write it off after confirming the amount.

  • Write-offs stated up front. Marking students as Left writes off their unpaid fees. The total is shown before you confirm, with one date and reason for the run.

Balances follow promoted students. A final-year student who owes cannot graduate until the balance is cleared or written off. Fictional students and amounts.

Promotion history

Every run on record. Reversible.

Past promotions are kept as runs, grouped by the streams they moved between.

  • Undo a run. Reversing removes the new enrolments, the alumni status of graduates and the fees carried forward.

  • Safe with work already done. Students whose new enrolment has since been used are skipped and listed, instead of being removed.

  • See what happened. A whole-class run shows each stream separately, including any stream that was redirected.

A past run, shown stream by stream, and what reversing it undoes. Students whose new enrolment is in use are left alone and listed. An example run.
