School tax

Tax figures with the detail behind them.

See each month’s PAYE, what is still to be remitted, and the bands it was worked out against.

Example figures for one month.

Each month

What was withheld and what is still to pay.

Choose a month and year to see the PAYE withheld across your staff, how much is still to be remitted, and the tax bands the figures were worked out with.

Fictional figures for one month.

Bands and reliefs

The rules your figures follow.

Tax bands, deduction types and rate settings sit together on one page, with an audit trail of changes. Bands can be switched on or off, and a gap between bands is pointed out, because income falling in it would be taxed at whichever band matched next.

  • Per-staff overrides. Set a staff member’s pension rate, NHIS and life insurance relief, or mark them exempt.

  • Check a figure first. The tax calculator works a monthly gross through the bands without touching any staff record.

Fictional staff with their own reliefs; one is marked exempt.

Per member of staff

Each person’s tax, set up properly.

Record a member of staff’s tax identification number, pension rate, monthly NHIS and life insurance amounts, and any custom relief allowance. Mark someone exempt with the type of exemption, the dates it runs from and until, and the reason.

A fictional member of staff’s tax details.

Tax calculator

Check a figure before it reaches a payslip.

Enter a monthly gross salary with pension, NHIS and life insurance deductions, and the calculator works it through the bands without touching any staff record.

Fictional inputs; no staff record is changed.

Exemptions

Why tax was not withheld, on file.

An exemption carries a reason, an optional end date and usually a supporting document.

  • Expiry respected. An exemption past its end date is no longer in force.

Fictional exemptions, each with a reason and evidence.

Reports and remittance

Ready for the revenue authority.

The PAYE report shows each staff member’s earnings, reliefs and tax for the month. Generating a remittance turns that month’s tax into one payable record.

  • Tax on fees, when it applies. Fee types marked taxable are reported by fee type and payment method. Educational fees are usually exempt.
