Scholarships
Awards that reduce the bill, once approved.
Set up your programmes, award them to students, and approved awards come off eligible fees.
Programmes
Fixed or a percentage.
Name each programme, choose whether it takes a fixed amount or a percentage off the fees, mark it as full or partial cover, and decide whether awards need approval. Switch a programme off when it is no longer offered.
Approval or automatic. An award stays pending until approved, or goes through on its own when the programme is set to auto-approve and fees are allocated.
Awards
One term, or until they leave.
An award can cover one session or a range of sessions, such as from JSS 1 until the student finishes.
Only approved awards count. A pending award does not reduce what the student owes.
The approver is recorded. Approval applies the discount to eligible fees and records who approved it.
Approve, reject, revoke
Approval is when an award becomes money.
Approving an award writes the discount against the student’s fees. Rejecting it leaves the fees alone. Revoking an approved award removes the discount and restores the balance.
Settled awards stay settled. An approved award cannot be edited, and an award never moves to another student or programme. Before approval, only the amount, term, duration and notes can change.
Report
What has actually been granted.
The scholarship report lists approved awards for the current session: who, on which programme, and what each is worth, filtered by class or programme. Pending and rejected awards are left out.
On the dashboard. The fees summary on the dashboard shows the total scholarship awarded beside the fees allocated.
No. Your school decides and records the award. SMS applies it to fees once approved.
Each future session needs the student enrolled and fees allocated before the discount can apply.
