Salary advances

Help now. Recovered on payday.

Staff ask for an advance against a coming month. Once it is paid, that month’s payslip deducts it.

A fictional advance from request to recovery on the month it names.

Asking

A request with the details that matter.

Staff choose the amount, the month it should come out of, and give a reason.

  • Their own requests in one list. Staff see every request they have made and where it stands.

  • Change of plan. A request can be withdrawn while it is still pending.

A fictional request. While it is pending, it can still be withdrawn.

Deciding

Decide, or issue one directly.

Whoever manages advances approves or rejects requests, and can also issue an advance without a request.

  • Clear statuses. Every advance is pending, paid or rejected.

  • Separate rights. Requesting an advance and managing advances are separate permissions.

Fictional requests approved and rejected, and an advance issued directly without a request.

Recovering

Deducted from the month it names.

A paid advance appears as a deduction on that month’s payslip, alongside the other deductions.

  • One per month. A staff member cannot take a second advance for a month that already has one.

  • Not after payday. An advance cannot be set against a month whose salary has already been paid.
