Reports

Ask a question of your school’s records.

Each area of SMS has its own reports, gathered under one menu, and one of them finds money your school is holding that it was not owed.

Fictional findings, listed as soon as the report opens.

Every area

Reports for each part of the school.

Seven groups of reports sit under one Reports menu: students, exams, student accounting, school accounting, attendance, sales and inventory, and human resources.

  • Only what your role allows. Each report checks its own permission, and reports for a module your branch does not use are not listed, so a teacher and a bursar see different menus.

  • Look back at an earlier year. Switch the session in the top bar and the report’s filters follow it.

Students

Who joined, where they sit, who is related.

The admission report lists students admitted in a date range, by class or section if you like. The class and section report counts how many students sit in each. The sibling report lists families with more than one child in a class, each family on one row.

The student reports.

Exams

Every student against every subject.

The broad sheet sets every student in a class against every subject in an exam, ordered by cumulative average. Progress reports and junior progress reports show how each child is doing. Report cards themselves are printed from Printables.

Student accounting

What was billed, paid, reduced and still owed.

Outstanding fees shows what each student owes for a term, with a totals row that always agrees with the rows. Total fees allocated groups the same figures by class with subtotals. The payment report lists each collection day, opening to the payments behind it and the fee lines each one covered. Fee adjustments puts discounts, scholarships and leaver write-offs in one place. The fees report lists individual payments over a date range, and the fine report the payments that carried a late fee.

Fee discrepancies

Money you were not owed, found for you.

Fee Discrepancies lists fees paid twice, such as the same fee taken on two computers that later sync, and discounts given after a charge was already paid. The findings are there when you open it.

  • Put it right from the finding. Open the invoice or the student, reverse the latest payment, or remove the discount.

A fictional duplicate payment and the action that clears it.

School accounting

The books, from every angle.

An account statement for a term, a session or any dates. Income and expense reports by head. Income against expense head by head, with a bar for each. A balance sheet with every account’s closing position, ready when you open it. And the account log, which records each financial operation, who did it and what changed.

Attendance

Day by day, or the whole session.

A class’s term as a grid of days, checked against the school calendar. A day’s attendance for every class with present and absent percentages. Each student’s running totals for the session. A month of staff attendance with weekends tinted. And who sat each exam paper.

The attendance reports.

Inventory and HR

Stock, sales, payslips and leave.

Stock on hand per product, purchase and sales reports, and an issues report that flags items still out past their due date. The payroll summary totals a month of payslips, each name opening its payslip, and the leave report lists applications in a date range.

Figures you can take elsewhere.
