Notifications

The news that reaches your desk.

Notices from SMS and messages from your school’s leaders arrive in your inbox, and can wait for you on the lock screen.

A fictional inbox.

Your inbox

Read, archive, move on.

The bell shows how many are unread. Open the notification centre to read them one by one or mark them all read, archive what you are done with or bring it back, and clear archived notices older than 90 days. Direct messages from school leaders have their own tab.

  • Heard, not overheard. Choose the tone, the volume, and how long a new notification stays on screen, or turn the pop-up off.

  • From SMS itself. For example, holiday reminders, and a notice to the school owner when payments are reversed.

Fictional archived notices.

Direct messages

A message to your staff, now or later.

The school owner and school admins can write to all staff or to people they pick. Send now, keep a draft, or schedule it for later.

  • Change your mind before it goes. Drafts and scheduled messages can be edited or deleted. Once sent, a message stays as it was.

  • Scheduling needs the scheduled job. Scheduled messages go out when SMS’s scheduled tasks run.

Lock screen

See what came in while you were away.

Unread notices wait on the lock screen. Tap one and it opens as soon as you enter your PIN.

  • Your call on a shared computer. Anyone walking past can read a lock screen, so you choose whether notices appear there.

Tapping a notice on the lock screen opens it once the PIN is entered. Fictional notices; showing them there is a personal setting.
