### Which Surepass edition should I download?
Choose Individual for personal practice, school students practising from home, parents or independent teachers. Choose Client for staff and students using school computers with an existing Surepass server. To run your school’s assessments from an on-site server, choose Windows Server or Linux Server.
### Who is Surepass Individual for?
It is for individual students, school students practising from home, parents supporting their children, and independent teachers working with their own learners. Choose Client Edition when staff or students need to use Surepass on school computers with an on-site server.
### How does Surepass Client find my school’s server?
Connect the computer to your school’s network and open the app. It automatically finds your school’s Surepass server, ready for you to sign in with your school account. There is no manual server setup or selection to complete.
### How do I get my school started with Surepass Server?
Open the app and choose to set up a school, try a demo, or start in free mode. Setup takes a few clicks, with on-screen steps your school administrator can follow.
### Do I need to download Client and Individual separately?
No. Both Windows Server and Linux Server editions include the Client and Individual apps. After setting up your school server, use its local download links to install those apps on your other computers.
### Can our school use Surepass without an internet connection?
Yes. The Server editions run Surepass from an offline-first, on-site school server. Computers using Client connect over your school’s network, so the school can keep using Surepass without relying on an internet connection.
### How does Surepass Server work with SMS?
If your school also uses SMS, Surepass automatically imports sessions, terms, grades, students and staff from your SMS server. Assessment marks and grades can also be sent back to SMS. Both Surepass Server editions support this with no extra integration setup.
### Which computers can use these editions?
The Windows editions support Windows 11, 10, 8 and 7 (64-bit). The Linux editions are available for Debian or Ubuntu computers. These desktop downloads are for Windows and Linux; if you are browsing on a Mac, phone or tablet, choose the computer you will install on.
