FAQs ## Academium SMS pricing FAQs A little clarity before you choose. Here’s how the plans, billing and setup work. [Still have a question?](https://my.academium.com.ng/support) ### How do the SMS plans differ? Lite gives you the core modules for up to 200 students. Standard adds every module and covers 350 students. Premium has every module with no limits on students or devices, and includes on-site support. Free mode lets you try the core modules with up to 50 students. The full feature list compares them line by line. ### Can we pay only for the students we have? Yes. Instead of the plan price, you can pay per student per term: ₦500 on Lite, ₦700 on Standard and ₦1,000 on Premium. These are alternative ways to pay; they are not added together. ### Is there a discount for paying for the whole session? Yes. Paying per session covers all 3 terms at once for 5% less: ₦213,750 for Lite, ₦427,500 for Standard and ₦570,000 for Premium. Per-student and extra-student rates are discounted the same way. ### What happens if we have more students than our plan covers? You can keep admitting students. On the plan-price option, each student over the allowance is charged per term: ₦500 on Lite and ₦700 on Standard. Premium has no student limit. ### How many computers can use SMS? Client Edition computers on your school network are unlimited. Individual Edition devices are limited by plan: 1 in free mode, 15 on Lite, then ₦300 for each extra device, 30 on Standard, and unlimited on Premium. ### Can we run SMS on our own server? Yes. Every plan supports a school server with Windows or Linux Server Edition. Paid plans also offer hosting on the Academium portal. Standard and Premium can use both together, with the school server and portal kept in sync. ### Does every setup work with Surepass? SMS and Surepass can exchange supported school records and completed assessment marks. A school that hosts SMS on the Academium portal needs an internet-connected server at school for automatic exchange with Surepass. School CBT sittings still run on the local school network. ### Is there a parent app? A parent portal is in development and will come with Standard and Premium when it launches. Parents do not sign in to SMS itself. ### How do we get started and get help? Every plan is self-service, with onboarding videos and guides on the help portal. Support is available 9am–5pm Monday to Friday and 12pm–3pm at weekends. On-site support is scheduled: it is included with Premium, and on Free mode, Lite and Standard it carries a one-time fee that is not part of the subscription. On-site onboarding is also scheduled, with a one-time cost. ### What can we do in free mode? Free mode includes the core modules, such as students, attendance, exams, employees and printables, for up to 50 students and attendance for 10 classes a day. Spreadsheet imports and the optional modules need a paid plan. ### What happens when our term ends? SMS keeps working for 7 days after a plan expires, with a reminder to renew. A school without internet can renew with a renewal file downloaded from the Academium portal on another computer. ### Which edition should we download? Choose a Server Edition for your school server, Client Edition for employees connecting to it, or Individual Edition for an employee’s own computer.
