Each palette is a full range of shades tuned by hand, so white text on a button stays legible whichever colour you pick.

-   **Separate from dark mode.** The accent is your school’s colour; light and dark mode are each person’s choice.

Try before you save

## See it before anyone else does.

Click a palette and the page around you changes colour straight away, so you can judge it on real buttons and menus. Save to keep it. Leave without saving and the colour you had comes back.

-   **Light and dark mode.** Each palette has a full range of shades, including the darker tints dark mode uses, so it looks right for staff in either mode.

## Set once, seen at sign-in.

Set the accent on the Appearance tab of School settings. Each branch keeps its own, and the sign-in screen uses the same colour as the rest of SMS.

### Who can change the accent colour?

Staff who are allowed to edit School settings. Everyone in the branch then sees the new colour.

### Can we enter our own colour code?

No. You choose from the 22 palettes, which keeps every shade readable.
